Two new limited edition guitars from Gibson

Written by admin on July 5, 2009 – 2:04 am -

Guitar manufacturer Gibson USA has unveiled two new limited edition models.
The 2009 Limited Run Series Tobias Growler bass is the latest addition to the famous bass line started by Michael Tobias in the 1970s and, according to the company, promises resonance, diversity, comfort and playability.
Modifications to the traditional Growler set up include the move from a bolt-on neck to one that is precision-glued - improving the tone and generating more sustain - and the use of the computerised Plek system, which ensures accurate alignment of the guitar and removes string buzz.
The other new Gibson model is the 2009 Limited Run Series Les Paul Florentine with Bigsby Tailpiece.
Combining traditional Les Paul features with a 1940s-style vibrato tailpiece and paying homage to classics such as the Gibson O-style instruments from the beginning of the 20th century, only 350 of the guitars will be made.
Other instruments to have received the Limited Run Series treatment this year include the Holy Explorer, the Grabber Bass and the Tribal V.
